The Medical Council of New Zealand developed similar processes to the Australian Medical Council for the accreditation of specialist medical education and training. In New Zealand these relate to vocational scopes of practice. Details can be found at: www.mcnz.org.nz/Education
The submission for reaccreditation in New Zealand was made to the Medical Council of New Zealand in July 2006. The reaccreditation covers the following vocational scopes:

Panels were selected by the Medical Council to undertake the review of documentation for the above areas.
In addition, the Chapter of Addiction Medicine is currently seeking recognition as a new vocational scope of practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
